Epsom Salt: for making simple saline, doing foot soaks, and treating bumblefoot. 1TBSP per Quart
Povidone-Iodine Prep Pads: For disinfecting hands and skin. Do not use topical iodine on deep, puncture wounds, animal bites, or serious burns.
Alcohol Prep Pad: For cleaning your hands and surface area.
Triple Antibiotic Ointment: to prevent bacterial infections of minor cuts, burns, or scrapes on the skin of the animal.
Lube: To perform hair ring checks or keep anal/vaginal prolapses moist while waiting for veterinary care.
Saline: To flush eyes or wounds of debris.
Eye Drops: To lubricate eyes after being flushed with saline.
Probiotics: Good gut bacteria to be given 6 hours after antibiotics. Mix 1 tsp with 60ml of soft food.
Balm: For moisturizing paws, ears, and noses.
Spooly Brush: For cleaning nozzles of syringes
The fit: An emergency cone should fit around your pet’s neck but still leave a small space for comfort. Never force a cone on, or use a cone if it squeezes or pinches the neck. All “short”, “medium”, and “long” descriptions are for the cone's depth and how much coverage it provides. This is not in reference to the girth of your pet’s neck. All emergency cones ( *except for “TINY” ) are made to fit an averaged-sized chinchilla, with some wiggle room. The hook-and-loop “Velcro” does not need to line up perfectly as it is there for you to adjust to the right size.
