Minimum Order Value
Orders must be $20.00 USD or higher in order to checkout.
Many items are sold at a great price on www.ChinnieBoutique.com but are not profitable to ship in small quantities or by themselves. We pay 2.9% the order value PLUS .30 cents per transaction just to process an order, this does not include banking fees or shipping fees. In order to continue stocking and supplying various items, I must be able to make a profit on each order.
Please try to remember that Chinnie B is a small business run by one single person. The time and materials used to collect and pack orders are something I must take into consideration.

When will I receive my order?
Items purchased from the Chinnie Boutique website ship usually ship within 3 business days once payment has cleared. Weekends and Federal holidays may extend shipping dates. You should be able to check the status of your order by logging into your account and checking your tracking information, or by reviewing your shipment email.
Please note, the estimated shipping time at checkout is only an estimate and not a guarentee. Once packages are dropped off at the post office it is no longer within our control and there may be delays in delivery.
Custom orders vary on a case-by-case basis and will have a “Turnaround” fulfillment time stated within the terms and conditions of your unique invoice. The average turnaround time for custom orders is 3-6 weeks. Reminder, This is a micro-business. The only employee is also the owner, This is why the turnaround time for custom items is longer. If it has been longer than the stated timeframe on your invoice, please reach out to me!

Pre-Authorization & Incomplete orders
When placing an order with Chinnie Boutique our payment processor will send your reauthorization for the transaction to your bank. This act places a hold on funds for the items you selected.
If the information provided does not match the information your bank has on file such as your code or billing information, the transaction will be denied and your order will not be placed.
Chinnie Boutique will not receive payment from your bank account if the transaction is denied and your bank will process the reversal of the pre-authorization.
Chinnie Boutique is unable to expedite the reversal of authorization as each banking establishment has its own policies.
Our processor will generally give a very short description as to why the payment was denied, if you inquire we can share that information with you. The most common reasons are :
Insufficient funds
failed security code
failed zip code authorization
It may take 1 - 15 business days for your bank to process the failed transaction and release the funds from the pre-authorization with any retailer.
Please make sure your accounts are up to date to avoid any inconveniences.

I didn't recieve hooks to hang my hammock, why?
You may not have received hooks if the item was not listed with hooks. In the beginning, I used to factor the cost of hooks into product prices and include them with every purchase. After doing so for several months return customers started to request that I no longer send them hooks because they had an overwhelming surplus of them and the added weight to their packages caused shipping to be higher compared to not including hooks at all. On average, it saves YOU around $3.00 in shipping costs! Now, hooks are only sold with certain items or as a separate add-on product.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes and no.
I have not gotten the details worked out on my website just yet to accept international orders but I am working on it. If you see something you really like, or are in need of emergency cones please reach out via my contact form. You can find it in the “need help?” tab.
In the VIP Facebook group, I do accept custom international orders regularly when custom orders are open.
-
Do you accept custom orders?
Yes, I do! I accept custom orders from time to time in my Facebook group: “Chinnie Boutique - VIP”. I usually accept custom orders during slower periods of time during the year, or when I do not have a restock I need to work on. When accepting custom orders, I always post in my VIP group FIRST to give VIP members a chance to get a spot, then I share to my Facebook page and Instagram accounts. I am a micro-business, it’s just me, so I can’t accept a continuous pool of custom requests.

What are your accessories made from?
Well, this is a complex question because I offer a variety of items at any given time. I do try to include the materials in item descriptions but I will add a brief summary here too.
For handmade cage accessories: My items are made from quality blizzard, polar, or anti-pill fleece fabric. This is a polyester fabric deemed “safe” for Chinchillas ( more in the next FAQ about that ). Depending on the product my accessories may also contain materials such as polyfil, polyester batting, or recycled textile padding AKA “ U-haul pads “. These materials are always sewn inside the fleece walls and never left exposed for your pet to access. These materials are necessary for making items that stand or have a soft mattress bottom. Certain items can be customized to use fleece scrap material as the filling in place of polyfill batting upon request.
-
Are the materials used safe for Chinchillas?
Yes, but everyone’s opinion is going to vary on what is safe.
Anti-pill / Blizzard fleece: It is one of the only fabrics deemed acceptable for use in Chinchilla enclosures due to its woven nature. You don’t need to worry about pesky unraveling strings. Fleece fabric IS technically plastic, it’s called polyester, so even though it’s “safe” you do need to monitor your pet and remove fleece accessories if they’re damaged or chewed on.
U-Haul Pad/ Recycled Textile Padding: This is a material that should never be placed in your cage raw. It’s used because of its absorption qualities and the firm body shape it gives items. U-haul is made of recycled denim and other textiles. If U-Haul is used, it needs to be encased in fleece. Fleece alone will never absorb water or urine due to its wicking ability, you need an absorbing layer.
Polyfill Batting & Stuffing: This is a fiber used for padding the interior walls of some items or a loose fiber used to pack pillows and buddies. Polyfill is made from polyester, just like fleece fabric is. If an item becomes damaged or chewed, it must be removed from use to prevent ingesting the fibers, Just like fleece fabric.
In my opinion, if fleece fabric is a suitable solution to wrap plastic pans or other materials/items we would like to prevent our pets from chewing on then it’s entirely safe to use it to wrap U-haul or Polyfill for certain items.
When placing a custom order, you can request that ONLY fleece be used for stuffing products. We do not do this by default because it’s expensive, time-consuming, and causes shipping rates to be higher due to the heavier weight of finished products. There have also been complaints of items not drying properly due to the fleece being so dense within the item - Causing a mildewy smell. It’s not our preference to stuff with fleece, but we can for you.

Why fleece?
Fleece is considered the only safe textile for Chinchilla cage accessories because of how durable it is. Unlike other fabric when damaged, fleece does not fray or become torn. Instead, it may ball up or a piece will fall off. Fleece is woven and brushed making it a very strong material due to all the fibers locking together. Other products like cotton, flannel, or faux fur may be woven too but these fabrics are not brushed fabrics. They are easily torn, ripped, and chewed apart resulting in large holes or many loose strings that may be a danger to your pet. Loose strings can easily become wrapped around limbs and cause strangulation. While fleece fabric is considered among the safest material for a Chinchilla to have in their cage, all fleece accessories should be monitored and removed if damaged. Fleece accessories are very durable, but they’re not indestructible.
