Lemon Blossom ( PINK ) Bonding Bag
A bonding bag is for out-of-cage use.
This design is suitable for 2-chinchillas.
Bonding bags help chinchillas feel safe and secure when handled, especially if your pet isn’t as socialized as you would like. The soft fabric helps support their body and softens the feel of hands holding them. We use a curved design so your pet doesn’t get their face stuck in a tight corner. As prey animals, Chinchillas do not normally like being held onto… but they do like to burrow and hide!
A bonding bag also helps collect stray poops while you’re holding and socializing with your pet!

This is how I gain my chinchilla's confidence and get them to relax with me.
I do use the "show hold" when necessary—that's when you securely hold them at the base of the tail—but when I'm just bonding or hanging out with them, I prefer to use a bonding bag.
A bonding bag is a fleece pouch that your chinchilla can burrow into. It offers coverage behind, above, and on both sides, helping them feel cozy and secure. Chinchillas are den-dwelling prey animals, and in the wild, they naturally seek out small, enclosed spaces like crevices between rocks. You've probably seen your own pet snuggling into a tunnel, hammock, or wooden house, right?
The bonding bag also softens your grip. Prey animals instinctively dislike being grabbed—after all, we are predators from their perspective. The bag acts as a gentle barrier between your hands and your chinchilla, making them feel freer and safer in your arms. And if they do get spooked, they’re more likely to retreat into the pouch and hide than to launch themselves out of your grasp. That’s a nice bonus, too.
I do handmake bonding bags for Chinnie Boutique . Com but you can honestly use a soft blanket if you want. I just might not catch poops as well and it's a bigger load of laundry to do.
