Meet Zeke! He's been with the rescue over a year.
Zeke came to us after his family had a new baby. At first, we noticed he seemed smaller than expected for a chinchilla that was supposed to be 3 years old.
After further investigation, we learned that his family had been feeding their chinchillas in a way that led to malnourishment and food-related conflicts. As a result, Zeke developed some food-possessive behavior around other chinchillas (though he's perfectly friendly with people) and became afraid of being with other chinchillas. While he can coexist with other chinchillas in the same home, he will need his own separate cage.
This doesn’t make Zeke any less deserving of a loving home! In fact, he has a wonderful personality and would be a great fit as a "first chinchilla" for the right family. He's happy to be scratched, does well being held, and isn't afraid of the usual hustle around the house.

To adopt, you must apply with Cali_FID Rescue. Go to www.califidparrotandexotic.com and fill out the adoption application.
These animals live in FOSTER HOMES. The rescue group does not have a facility for visitors.
